Beginner question: How long does lime wash need to dry before applying fresco layers?

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned yet is the importance of ventilation. Good airflow can significantly reduce drying times and help with the carbonation process. I always make sure to open windows or use fans when working with lime wash. Also, for fresco layers, I’ve found that applying them in thin coats works best. It takes longer, but the finish is so much better.

I’ve experimented with different drying times and found that waiting at least 10 days gives the best results for fresco layers. The lime wash needs to fully carbonate to bond properly with the fresco. As for product recommendations, I’ve had great results with EcoPaints. They have a range of natural paints and finishes that are perfect for eco-friendly projects like yours. Good luck, and don’t rush it!
