Beginner question: What are the first steps to take when choosing a non-toxic paint?

I think the biggest challenge with natural paints is the drying time. They can take longer to dry than conventional paints, which requires a bit more patience. But once they’re on, they look fantastic. I used Earthborn in my bedroom and the air quality improvement was noticeable. Definitely worth the wait.

For anyone considering natural paints, I’d recommend looking into the VOC content. Even some ‘eco-friendly’ paints can have higher VOCs than you’d expect. I found that doing a bit of extra research helped me find a brand that was truly low in VOCs, which was important for me. The application process was smoother than I anticipated, and the results were great.
