Best non-toxic paint options for high-traffic areas: A comparison

Has anyone considered the impact of paint on indoor air quality over time? I’ve been researching AFM Safecoat, and it seems promising not just for being eco-friendly but also for maintaining good air quality. Durability seems decent from what I’ve read, but I’m curious if anyone has firsthand experience with it in busy areas of their home.

I’ve used Earthborn Paints in my kitchen, which is a high-traffic area, and I’m really impressed with how it’s held up. The color options are more limited compared to conventional paints, but they do offer a range of vibrant shades. I went with a deep teal, and it’s been easy to clean without losing its color. Surface prep is key, though. Make sure your walls are clean and dry before you start.

I was worried about the color options too, but I found that Auro Paints has a pretty wide range of vibrant colors. They’re also non-toxic and eco-friendly. I used a bright yellow in my living room, and it’s been holding up well against wear and tear. The key is to apply a good primer first, especially if you’re going for a lighter color over a darker one.

I’ve heard good things about Lullaby Paints for vibrant colors. They’re non-toxic and have a variety of unique shades. I haven’t used them in a high-traffic area yet, but I’m considering them for my next project. Does anyone have experience with how they hold up in busy spaces?

I went with BioShield for my hallway, and while it’s not as vibrant as some conventional paints, the color options are decent. I chose a soft green, and it’s been easy to touch up when needed. The durability has been good, but I do recommend using a sealant in high-traffic areas to help protect the paint.

For those looking for vibrant colors, Ecos Paints might be worth checking out. They offer a wide palette and are VOC-free. I used a bold red in my dining room, and it’s been easy to maintain. Just make sure to follow their prep instructions closely for the best results.

I think the key with natural paints is managing expectations. You might not get the exact shade you’re imagining, but the trade-off is worth it for the eco-friendly aspect. I used Earthborn Paints in a light grey for my living room, and while it’s not the most vibrant, it’s created a really calming space. Plus, it’s been durable and easy to clean.
