I haven’t tried Milk Paint on tiles, but I used BioShield for my kitchen floor and it’s been holding up pretty well. It’s been about a year, and there’s minimal wear. The key was in the prep work. I used a deglosser on the tiles before applying the paint, and it adhered much better. Cleaning is easy too, just a damp mop does the trick.

I’m curious about the sealing process with Milk Paint. What kind of non-toxic sealer did you use? I’m considering trying it on my laundry room floor but worried about durability. Also, did you find the color options limiting? I love the idea of a completely non-toxic option but want to make sure I can get the look I’m going for.

I went with AFM Safecoat for my tile floors and couldn’t be happier. It’s been two years, and the floors still look great. I did sand the tiles lightly and used their recommended primer, which I think made a big difference. The paint is easy to clean and hasn’t chipped or peeled. It’s a bit more expensive, but worth it for the durability and peace of mind knowing it’s non-toxic.
