Comparing the durability of anti-microbial finishes: Which eco-friendly paint brand lasts longer?

Interesting point about the VOC levels. I haven’t used EcoGuard, but BioShield was a game-changer for my living room. The lack of smell was noticeable, and it’s been a year with no issues. I’m curious, though, about how these paints perform in direct sunlight. Has anyone tested their fade resistance?

I’ve been using AFM Safecoat for a while now, and it’s been fantastic for my allergy-prone family. It’s not just low-VOC; it’s no-VOC, which is a huge difference. The durability is solid, especially in high-traffic areas. I haven’t tried EcoGuard or BioShield, but Safecoat’s performance has made me a loyal customer.

To the point about sunlight, I painted my sunroom with BioShield last summer. It’s held up surprisingly well against the UV exposure. There’s a slight fade, but it’s minimal compared to other paints I’ve used. I wonder how EcoGuard would perform under similar conditions.

I’m all about The Real Milk Paint Co. for its natural ingredients. It’s a different beast compared to EcoGuard and BioShield, being a milk paint, but the finish is unique and durable. It’s also completely non-toxic, which is a big win for me. Has anyone else experimented with milk paints for anti-microbial finishes?

Jumping in on the milk paint discussion, I used The Real Milk Paint Co. for a vintage furniture project. The finish is beautiful, but I’m not sure about its anti-microbial properties compared to EcoGuard or BioShield. It’s definitely eco-friendly, though. Does anyone know if milk paints can be enhanced with anti-microbial additives?
