I’m all for making greener choices, but I also need my paint to last. I used BioShield on my garden shed, and while it’s eco-friendly, I noticed it needed a touch-up after just one year. Maybe EcoProCote’s durability claims are worth exploring if they can offer both longevity and eco-friendliness. Has anyone tested its resistance to mold and mildew?
I’ve been using BioShield for a couple of years now on my wooden deck and it’s held up pretty well against the rain and sun. The color hasn’t faded much, which is a big plus. I did notice that it took a bit longer to dry compared to conventional paints, but I think it’s worth the wait for something less toxic. Not sure about stucco though, maybe someone else has experience with that?
I tried Auro on my stucco walls last summer and it was a game-changer. The paint adhered really well and the finish was smooth. It’s been through a lot of rain and still looks fresh. I was worried about the color fading in the sun, but so far, so good. I think the key is in the preparation of the surface. Make sure it’s clean and dry before you start painting.
That’s a great tip about UV resistance. I hadn’t thought about that before. I used Earthpaint on my outdoor furniture and while I love the natural look, I did notice some fading after a year. Maybe I’ll look into a UV-resistant option next time. Does anyone know if BioShield or Auro offer UV-resistant paints? Also, how do they compare in terms of price to conventional paints?
