Hey everyone! I’ve been on a mission to make my home as eco-friendly as possible, and my latest project involves repainting the hallway and kitchen. These areas see a lot of foot traffic and, frankly, my current paint job is chipping away like crazy. I’m determined to find a non-toxic paint that can withstand the hustle and bustle without harming the planet.
I’ve tried a couple of eco-friendly paints in the past, like Earthborn Claypaint for a bedroom makeover, which was fantastic for low-traffic areas but I’m not sure it’s tough enough for the hallway. I’ve also heard great things about Biofa’s Eco Paints, especially their durability, but I’m curious if anyone has firsthand experience using them in high-traffic zones.
I’m particularly interested in paints that are not only durable but also have a low environmental impact. I’m talking about paints with natural pigments, minimal VOCs, and sustainable packaging. Has anyone found a brand that ticks all these boxes? Also, any tips on surface preparation to ensure the paint adheres well and lasts longer would be super helpful.
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and recommendations!
Hey @EcoPainterJane, I’ve been in a similar boat trying to find durable, eco-friendly paints. I recently used Biofa’s Eco Paints for my kitchen and so far, it’s holding up really well against the daily wear and tear. The key, I found, was in the surface prep. I made sure to clean the walls thoroughly and used a primer that’s compatible with natural paints. It’s been a few months, and no chipping yet!

I’m all about Earthborn Claypaint for its eco-credentials, but I agree, it might not be the best for high-traffic areas. Have you considered Auro Natural Paints? They have a range specifically designed for durability and are made with natural ingredients. Plus, their packaging is fully recyclable, which is a big win for the environment.

I’ve been experimenting with Livos Kunos for my high-traffic areas. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but the durability and eco-friendliness are top-notch. The application was smooth, and it dried to a beautiful, even finish. Plus, it’s made with natural oils and resins, so it’s as green as it gets.

@EcoPainterJane I used Eco-Primer by Biofa, which is specifically designed for their paints. As for odors, there was a slight natural scent, but nothing overwhelming or unpleasant. It was actually quite refreshing compared to the chemical smell of conventional paints.

I’ve been in the same boat, trying to find that perfect eco-friendly paint that can handle the wear and tear. I stumbled upon Ecos Paints recently. They claim to have zero VOCs and are pretty durable. Used it in my living room, which gets a lot of traffic, and so far, so good. The color hasn’t faded, and no chips yet. Might be worth checking out.

Has anyone tried Milk Paint? I’ve heard it’s super eco-friendly and durable. It’s made from milk protein, lime, and natural pigments. I’m considering it for my hallway but worried it might not be as durable as some of the other options mentioned here. Any experiences?

I’ve used Biofa’s Eco Paints in my hallway and kitchen. It’s been a year, and the paint still looks fresh. It’s tough, covers well, and the low VOC content is a big plus. The only downside is it’s a bit pricey, but considering the durability and eco-friendliness, I think it’s worth the investment.

I’m all for Earthborn Claypaint too, but yeah, maybe not the best for high-traffic areas. I’ve been looking into Lullaby Paints for my next project. They’re non-toxic, zero VOC, and claim to be durable. Haven’t tried them yet, but they seem promising. Anyone have experience with them?

For those considering Auro Natural Paints, I used their floor paint, and it’s been fantastic. It’s durable, easy to clean, and the natural ingredients are a big plus. It might be a bit more work to apply compared to conventional paints, but the end result is worth it. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a durable, eco-friendly option.
I’ve been using Livos Kunos for a while now in my living room, which gets a ton of foot traffic, and I have to say, it’s held up remarkably well. The natural oils and resins not only make it eco-friendly but also give it a unique depth of color that synthetic paints just can’t match. It’s definitely worth the investment if you’re looking for something durable and sustainable.

I’m all about the eco-friendly paints, but I’ve found that the key to longevity is in the prep work. No matter which brand you go with, make sure you sand down any rough spots and use a good primer. I used Earthborn Claypaint in my hallway, and with proper prep, it’s been holding up surprisingly well against the daily wear and tear. Just something to keep in mind as you’re deciding.
