Hey everyone! I’ve been diving deep into the world of eco-friendly renovations lately, especially focusing on non-toxic paints that don’t compromise on style. My latest project involves revamping my living room to achieve that sleek, modern aesthetic we all love, but with a green twist. I’ve been experimenting with Earthborn Paints, specifically their Claypaint range, which offers a beautiful matte finish that’s perfect for modern interiors. The coverage is fantastic, and it’s breathable, which is great for the walls.
Previously, I tried Auro’s natural paints for a smaller project, and while I loved their eco-credentials, I found the sheen a bit too glossy for the modern look I’m aiming for now. This got me thinking about the balance between eco-friendliness and achieving the right sheen for a contemporary space. I’m curious, has anyone else found a non-toxic paint that offers a satin or eggshell finish without the high VOC content? Also, how do you find these paints hold up on different surfaces, like plaster or previously painted walls?
I’m all ears for your experiences and recommendations. Let’s share our finds and help each other create beautiful, sustainable spaces!
I’ve been on a similar journey to find the perfect non-toxic paint for a modern aesthetic. I recently used Ecos Paints and was really impressed with their satin finish. It’s not too glossy and gives a nice, subtle sheen that works well in contemporary spaces. Plus, their VOC content is super low, which is a big win for eco-conscious decorators. Has anyone else tried Ecos?

@GreenThumb99 Yes, I’ve used Ecos Paints for my kitchen cabinets and I agree, the satin finish is just right. It’s durable too, which is important for high-traffic areas. I’m curious, how did you find the coverage? I had to do a couple of coats to get an even finish.

@ModernMinimalist I found the coverage to be pretty good, but like you, I did need a second coat in some areas to get that perfect finish. It’s a bit more work, but worth it for the eco-friendly aspect and the final look.

I’ve been experimenting with Biofa’s natural paints and I’m really impressed with their eggshell finish. It’s perfect for achieving that modern look without the high gloss. The application was smooth, and it adhered well to both plaster and previously painted walls. Has anyone else tried Biofa? I’d love to hear your experiences.

@SustainaStyle I haven’t tried Biofa yet, but I’m intrigued by your experience. How does the eggshell finish compare to matte in terms of durability and ease of cleaning? I’m looking for something that’s both stylish and practical for a living room setting.

@EcoPainter88 The eggshell finish is definitely more durable and easier to clean than matte, which is why I chose it for my living room. It’s held up really well against everyday wear and tear, and cleaning is a breeze. I’d recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for a practical yet stylish option.

I’m all about the matte finish for that modern, understated look. Has anyone tried Lullaby Paints? I’ve heard great things about their eco-friendliness and the quality of their matte finish. Looking for any firsthand experiences before I take the plunge.

I’ve been using Ecos Paints for a while now, and I totally agree with you on the satin finish. It’s just right for that modern vibe without going overboard on the gloss. What I really appreciate is how easy it is to apply, even on surfaces that have been painted before. Have you tried their color matching service? I’m curious about how accurate it is.

I haven’t tried Ecos yet, but I’m intrigued by your experience. I’ve been sticking to Farrow & Ball for their eco-friendly options and the depth of color they offer. Their Estate Eggshell finish is pretty close to what you’re describing with Ecos. It’s got a nice, subtle sheen that doesn’t scream ‘look at me’ but still adds a bit of sophistication to the walls. How do you think Ecos compares in terms of color range?

I’m all about Benjamin Moore’s Natura line. Zero VOCs and the eggshell finish is perfect for a modern aesthetic. It’s durable too, which is great for high-traffic areas. I used it in my hallway and after a year, it still looks fresh. Has anyone else noticed how some eco-friendly paints fade faster than others? I’m wondering if it’s just the brand or if it’s a common issue with low-VOC paints.

I’ve been experimenting with Biofa’s paints recently. They’re not as well-known, but their satin finish is exactly what I was looking for. It’s got this soft glow that really complements modern decor. Plus, their commitment to sustainability is impressive. They even use renewable energy in their production process. Has anyone else looked into the manufacturing practices of the paint brands they use? I think it’s an important factor to consider alongside the finish and VOC content.

I’ve been using Biofa’s natural paints for a while now, and I totally agree about the eggshell finish. It really does strike the perfect balance for a modern aesthetic. I used it in my kitchen, and it’s held up surprisingly well against moisture and stains. The only downside I’ve noticed is that it takes a bit longer to dry compared to some other brands, but it’s worth the wait for the finish and eco-friendliness.

Haven’t tried Biofa yet, but your experience sounds promising. I’ve been sticking to Earthborn Paints for their matte finish, but I’m always on the lookout for something with a bit more sheen for certain projects. How does Biofa’s eggshell finish handle touch-ups? I find that’s where some eco-friendly paints can be a bit tricky, especially if you’re trying to match the original application perfectly.
I’ve actually used Lullaby Paints in my kid’s room and was pretty impressed. The matte finish is exactly what you’re looking for if you want that modern, understated vibe. It covered well over the old paint, and the color stayed true, no fading or anything. Plus, knowing it’s eco-friendly and non-toxic gives me peace of mind, especially in a child’s room. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

I haven’t tried Lullaby Paints yet, but I’m curious about their durability. Matte finishes can sometimes be a pain to clean, especially in high-traffic areas. Has anyone had any issues with marks or stains on walls painted with Lullaby? Also, how does it handle moisture? I’m considering it for my bathroom but worried about the humidity affecting the paint.
