Comparing the durability of different eco-friendly paint brands on plaster

It’s great to see so many positive experiences with eco-friendly paints. I’ve been hesitant to switch from conventional paints, fearing they might not be as durable or easy to apply. But hearing about the success with Biofa and others is making me reconsider. I’m especially interested in how these paints perform over time. Has anyone noticed any fading or wear after several years?

I’ve been using Bauwerk Colour’s Lime Paint too, and I’m really impressed with how it’s holding up in my kitchen. The chalky finish is perfect for hiding imperfections in old plaster. It’s been about a year, and I’ve only had to touch up a couple of spots where it got chipped. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for that vintage look with eco-friendly benefits.

Interesting to hear about lime-based paints. I’ve been sticking with Eco-Paint for my living room and hallway. The Claypaint has been great for breathability, but I did notice it’s a bit more prone to scuffing in high-traffic areas. Maybe I should give Bauwerk Colour a try in those spots. How does it handle cleaning? Can you wipe it down without damaging the finish?

I tried Earthborn in my bathroom, thinking the matte finish would be perfect. But, I’ve found it doesn’t hold up well to moisture, even with good ventilation. It’s started to peel in a couple of corners. Maybe lime paint would be a better option for damp areas. Has anyone used Bauwerk Colour in a bathroom setting?

I’m all for eco-friendly paints, but I’ve had mixed results with durability. I used Auro in my kids’ room, and while it’s great for air quality, it marks up really easily. I’m curious about Bauwerk Colour now. Does it come in a variety of colors, or is it more limited like some natural paints?

Just wanted to chime in about application tips for Bauwerk Colour’s Lime Paint. It’s a bit different from regular paint. You really need to work it into the plaster with a brush to get the best adhesion and finish. It’s worth the extra effort though, for the durability and the unique look it gives. Plus, it’s so satisfying to use something so natural and sustainable.
