Hey everyone! I’m in the middle of renovating my kitchen and I’m determined to stick to my eco-friendly principles, especially when it comes to paint. I’ve been exploring VOC-free options because, let’s face it, kitchens are high-traffic areas that need durable and safe finishes. So far, I’ve tried Earthborn’s Claypaint in a different room and loved its matte finish and how it felt to apply. But I’m curious about its durability in a kitchen setting. Has anyone used this or another VOC-free paint in their kitchen? How did it hold up against splashes, steam, and the occasional spaghetti sauce incident?
I’m also considering Auro’s Natural Paints for their reputation in durability and environmental friendliness. Their range includes options specifically designed for kitchens and bathrooms, which is promising. But before I take the plunge, I’d love to hear from anyone who’s used Auro or similar brands in high-traffic areas. Did you need to apply a special sealant or topcoat? How was the coverage and ease of application?
Lastly, I’m all about minimizing environmental impact, so any tips on reducing waste during the painting process or choosing the most sustainable options would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to hearing your experiences and advice!
I’ve used Earthborn’s Claypaint in my kitchen and was pleasantly surprised by its durability. It’s been over a year, and the walls still look great despite the daily wear and tear. The matte finish does a good job of hiding minor imperfections, which is a bonus in a busy kitchen. However, for areas prone to splashes, like behind the sink, I did apply a clear, natural wax sealant for extra protection. It’s held up well against steam and the occasional spill. I haven’t tried Auro’s Natural Paints, but I’ve heard good things about their kitchen-specific range. Maybe someone else can chime in on that?

I’m all about Auro’s Natural Paints! Used their kitchen paint last summer, and it’s been fantastic. The coverage was excellent, and it dried to a beautiful, durable finish. I didn’t use any additional sealant, and it’s handled everything from steam to tomato sauce splatters like a champ. Plus, knowing it’s eco-friendly makes me feel good about my choice. For reducing waste, I made sure to measure my walls accurately and only mixed what I needed, which helped minimize leftover paint.

@SunnyDays47 That’s exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for regarding Auro’s Natural Paints! It’s reassuring to know it’s durable without needing extra sealants. I’ll take your advice on measuring walls accurately to reduce waste. Did you use any special brushes or rollers for application?

@EcoPainter88 Yes, the application was pretty straightforward. I used a standard roller and a brush for the edges. The paint has a nice consistency, not too thick or thin, which made it easy to work with. Just make sure to give it enough time to dry between coats for the best finish.

@EcoPainter88 I used natural bristle brushes and a high-quality roller to apply Auro’s Natural Paints. They recommend using their own brushes for the best results, but I found that any good quality natural bristle brush worked well. The key is to keep your tools clean and free of old paint residues to ensure a smooth application.

Has anyone tried Biofa’s Natural Paints in their kitchen? I’m considering them for my renovation but haven’t found much info on their performance in high-traffic areas. I’m particularly interested in how they handle moisture and stains.
