Hey fellow eco-warriors!
I’ve been on a mission to make my home as green as possible, and a big part of that has been switching to natural paints. I’ve been using Earthborn Claypaint for a couple of years now, and I’m really impressed with its performance. It’s got this beautiful, matte finish that just feels so natural and calming. But, as with any paint, there comes a time when you need to do some touch-ups, especially in high-traffic areas like hallways and kitchens.
I’m curious to hear about your experiences with eco-friendly paints over time. Have you found certain brands or types to be more durable than others? I’ve also tried Auro Natural Paints, which are fantastic for their environmental credentials, but I’ve noticed they require a bit more frequent touch-ups compared to Earthborn. Maybe it’s the surface prep or the specific colors I chose?
Let’s discuss! What natural paints have you used, and how have they held up over the years? Any tips for ensuring longevity or favorite products that have stood the test of time? Also, how do you approach color matching when it’s time for those inevitable touch-ups? Looking forward to hearing your stories and advice!
I’ve been using Earthborn Claypaint for about three years now, and I must say, the durability is impressive, especially in high-traffic areas. I did notice that lighter colors tend to show less wear over time. For touch-ups, I keep a small amount of the original paint, which helps with color matching. Has anyone else tried this approach?

@EcoExplorer88 That’s a great tip about keeping some of the original paint for touch-ups! I’ve been doing the same, and it really does make a difference. I’m curious, have you tried any other brands for comparison?

I’ve experimented with a few different natural paints over the years, including Auro Natural Paints and Biofa. While I love the environmental credentials of Auro, I found Biofa to be slightly more durable, especially in areas exposed to sunlight. The key for me has been thorough surface preparation before application. Does anyone have specific prep tips they swear by?

@NatureLover99 I completely agree about the importance of surface prep! I always make sure to clean the walls thoroughly and use a primer if necessary. For natural paints, I’ve found that a good quality primer can really enhance durability. Have you noticed a difference when using a primer?

I’m relatively new to the world of eco-friendly paints, but I’ve been using Ecos Organic Paints for my living room. It’s only been a few months, but so far, so good! The color is vibrant, and it seems to be holding up well. I’m curious about long-term experiences with this brand, though. Has anyone used Ecos for several years?

As someone who’s been in the painting business for over a decade, I can’t stress enough the importance of choosing the right paint for the right surface. For natural paints, Livos has been a game-changer for me, especially on wooden surfaces. Their oils and waxes not only protect but also enhance the natural beauty of the wood. Has anyone else had experience with Livos on different surfaces?

@PaintPro I’ve used Livos on a few projects, and I agree, it’s fantastic for wood. The finish is just unparalleled. I’m curious, though, have you tried it on any other surfaces, like plaster or concrete? I’m considering it for a new project but unsure about its versatility.

I’ve been using Earthborn Claypaint too, and I agree, it’s pretty durable. I’ve found that the key to longevity is in the prep work. Making sure the walls are clean and smooth before painting makes a huge difference. Also, I’ve noticed that using a primer, even though it’s an extra step, really helps the paint stick better and last longer. Have you tried using a primer with your Earthborn paint?

Interesting point about the lighter colors showing less wear. I’ve been using Biofa Natural Paints and have had a similar experience. The lighter shades seem to hold up better over time, especially in areas that get a lot of sunlight. I wonder if it’s something about the pigments they use in eco-friendly paints. Also, keeping some of the original paint for touch-ups is a great tip. I do the same, and it’s saved me a few times when I needed to fix a scuff or two.

I’ve tried a few different brands, including Earthborn and Auro, and I’ve found that the durability can vary a lot depending on the room. For example, in my bathroom, which gets a lot of moisture, the paint tends to peel faster, no matter the brand. I’ve started using a special eco-friendly bathroom paint that’s supposed to resist mold and moisture better. It’s been a game-changer. Maybe it’s worth looking into specific types of eco-friendly paints for different areas of the house?

I’ve been using Earthborn Claypaint for my living room and it’s been holding up pretty well. The key for me was making sure the walls were super clean and dry before applying. I also used a primer specifically designed for natural paints, which I think made a big difference. For touch-ups, I keep a small pot of the original color and just dab it on with a sponge. It blends in pretty seamlessly.

Interesting about the Biofa durability. I’ve been considering switching to natural paints for my kitchen, which gets a lot of sunlight. Do you think the durability difference is noticeable enough to justify the switch from Auro to Biofa? Also, any tips on dealing with grease stains on natural paints? I’m a bit worried about that in the kitchen.

I’ve had a mixed experience with Auro Natural Paints. Love the eco-friendly aspect, but yeah, the durability isn’t the best, especially in high-traffic areas. I found that using a clear protective coat over the paint helps a bit, but it’s not perfect. For touch-ups, I try to do them during the same time of day to ensure the lighting is similar, which helps with color matching.

Has anyone tried Ecos Organic Paints? I’ve heard they’re pretty durable and have a wide range of colors. I’m planning to repaint my bedroom and want something that’s both eco-friendly and long-lasting. Also, any advice on choosing the right sheen for a bedroom? I’m torn between matte and eggshell.

I swear by Biofa for its durability, especially in sunny rooms. My living room faces south and gets a lot of light, and the Biofa paint has barely faded after two years. For prep, I always sand the walls lightly and wipe them down with a damp cloth to remove any dust. It’s a bit of extra work, but it really helps the paint adhere better.

For those worried about touch-ups, I’ve found that keeping a detailed record of the paint brand, color name, and batch number is a lifesaver. Natural paints can vary slightly between batches, so having this info makes it easier to get a perfect match. Also, applying paint with a roller for touch-ups helps blend it better than using a brush. Has anyone else tried this method?

I’ve been using Ecos Organic Paints for about two years now in my home office. The color has stayed vibrant, and I haven’t noticed any fading, which is great. I did have to do a small touch-up near the door where it gets a lot of wear, but the color matched perfectly. It’s reassuring to hear others are having good experiences too. I’m curious, has anyone tried their exterior paints?

I switched to Ecos Organic Paints last year for my kid’s room. The non-toxic aspect was a big selling point for me. So far, it’s been holding up well against the usual wear and tear. I haven’t had to do any touch-ups yet, but I’m keeping an eye on the corners where the furniture rubs against the wall. Does anyone have tips for protecting high-contact areas?
